Default instant read thermometers

The most inaccurate P'sOS on the planet. I learned how to calibrate after a
couple of FU's.

Stick the tip in boiling water - record the temperature - either on paper,
or in your head. Stick the tip in ice water and again, - record the
temperature.

Then; lightly grab the shaft with vise grips or other suitable pliers. Grab
close to the dial. The operative word here is;"lightly". DO NOT CRUSH THE
SHAFT!

Then grab the dial and twist.

If anyone has a different method please post it. If anyone knows how to
calibrate the digital's, which are even worse, please post that also.
