Default Inflation and cook books.

Hello All!

This was reported in C&E News, the magazine of the American Chemical
Society. Brian Wanslick and Collin R Payne have determined that
calories in 18 classic recipes in "The Joy of Cooking" have increased
by 35.2% over the original edition in 1936 (Ann. Intern. Med 2009,
150,291). This is due to ingredients with more calories and increases in
serving sizes. The ACS did not measure the weight increase of the cook
book since 1936 but the book has increased 46% in weight since 1946 so
it's outstripping the recipes!
