Le Creuset 7 1/4 qt Round French oven

Best buy: Tranmontina 6.5 quart cast iron dutch oven.

Thanks, nancy... that's what I was looking for; couldn't remember
Tranmontina because I'd never heard of it before -- Is anyone familiar
with this brand?

I apologize that I spelled it wrong ... it's Tramontina.

The "Tuesday Morning" chain had a boat load of S/S Tramontina stuff
five or six years ago. I don't remember prices, but it was dirt cheap
or I wouldn't have bought so many pieces. I don't have the dutch
oven, but the quality of the pieces I do have is very good and I'm
quite happy. They've got the best buy rating from CI a few times over
the years for various items. If the cast iron Dutch oven is the same
quality as the pans I have I'm sure it's a good item.

A few months ago, I bought two Tremontina santoku knives from Sam's
Club; the price was such I could not resist <g>. They seem to be of
good quality and have stayed sharp so far. I'd buy more Tremontina
stuff, and it's nice to know CI thinks they're a good brand, too. Hmmm,
I noticed that the knives were manufactured in Brazil. I wonder if
that's the case with their other products?
