I enjoyed a tasty dessert at the 4th of July Potluck.

I got the ingredient list, but not the amounts.

Cherry pie filling, drained pineapple, cottage cheese,
mini-marshmallows, CoolWhip, and a sprinkle of chery jello.

Anyone have the recipe ? What's it called ?

Since it's not some thing that's dependent on exact amounts it's probably a
can of cherry pie filling, a middle size can of pineapple, drained, a
carton of cottage cheese, a small tub of cool whip and a small box of cherry
jello. Stir together.

There was one at our gathering tonight, it was tub of cottage cheese, orange
jello, drained pineapple and tub of cool whip.

Sounds like it's missing coconut or something.

I think the one you're thinking of has coconut, mandarin oranges, mini
marshmallows and maybe cool whip. I don't remember for sure what the
dressing part is on that one. I don't remember if that one has jello or not
either. Of couse, since it's just stuff stirred together you can put what
ever you want in it.

It just sounded like some odd version of ambrosia.
