Have you been keeping up with the news?

http://www.drugscience.org/Archive/bcr2/cashcrops.html
http://www.cannabis.net/articles/pot.html
http://www.jointogether.org/news/hea...cash-crop.html
http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/htm...otcrop23m.html
http://www.latimes.com/news/local/la...,5264617.story

I could go on... but Google is your friend. Just use "biggest cash
crop" as your search term if you want to know more.

Copperhead Road
(Steve Earle)

Well my name's John Lee Pettimore
Same as my daddy and his daddy before
You hardly ever saw Grandaddy down here
He only came to town about twice a year
He'd buy a hundred pounds of yeast and some copper line
Everybody knew that he made moonshine
Now the revenue man wanted Grandaddy bad
He headed up the holler with everything he had
It's before my time but I've been told
He never came back from Copperhead Road

Now Daddy ran the whiskey in a big block Dodge
Bought it at an auction at the Mason's Lodge
Johnson County Sheriff painted on the side
Just shot a coat of primer then he looked inside
Well him and my uncle tore that engine down
I still remember that rumblin' sound
Well the sheriff came around in the middle of the night
Heard mama cryin', knew something wasn't right
He was headed down to Knoxville with the weekly load
You could smell the whiskey burnin' down Copperhead Road

I volunteered for the Army on my birthday
They draft the white trash first,'round here anyway
I done two tours of duty in Vietnam
And I came home with a brand new plan
I take the seed from Colombia and Mexico
I plant it up the holler down Copperhead Road
Well the D.E.A.'s got a chopper in the air
I wake up screaming like I'm back over there
I learned a thing or two from ol' Charlie don't you know
You better stay away from Copperhead Road

Copperhead Road
Copperhead Road
Copperhead Road

Considering how little she said she makes, it wouldn't be too hard to
earn more.

Huh?

I am not and never was interested in growing/selling pot...

I think it should be decriminalized and taxed, just like tobacco and
alcohol.

The only plant I grow that is good for a "high" is catmint, and that's
for the kitties. :-)

What on god's green earth gave you THAT impression???

Fascinating... but to me, it would not be worth the potential (read
Federal conviction) price.
I've worked too long and hard to get where I am _legally_ than to mess
with something like that.

<sigh>

On the bright side, if I'd take the time to learn to solder silver, I
met a guy at a gem and jewelry show that nets $500,000 per year on his
artwork jewelry, and it looked pretty easy to do. :-)

Average jewelry markup is 300% to 1,000% of it's original price to
manufacture. It's why it's such a lousy investment to purchase pre-made
jewelry. You can NEVER pawn or re-sell it for what you paid for it.

<lol> I've not priced pot since the mid-70's, and that was in
California... :-) At that time, "bunk" pot was $25.00 to $35.00 per oz.
with the good stuff (buds) running $60.00 to $80.00 per oz.

Times change.

You _would_ know the local prices!

And yes, to make a living, you'd have to sell enough pot to qualify for
the 20 years to life for distributing sentence.

I'll settle for my legal salary of 50K per year, thank you!
So I have to process human body fluids?
So what?

Somebody has to do it...

And I get cheap health insurance. ;-)

I quit posting there weeks ago. Not because I disliked the group, but
because Paisley Sky was becoming a pain in the ass. I'll go back
eventually.

And pot is not a psychedelic (altho' that is frequently argued there and
cross posted to alt.drugs.pot).

And if you'd actually READ my (many) posts, you'd know that I've not
fooled around with anything for a very, VERY long time, but I made some
good friends there that were very supportive in my time of need.

It's a better support list than alt.support.depression ever dreamed of
being, or alt.suicide.methods. ;-)

Guess you missed my posts on a.s.m. from several years ago when I was
having trouble dealing with my soul mate's death.

Loser.

We all have our skeletons in the closet and I have no reason to be
ashamed. Unfortunately, Google archives them.

I've not used pot since my senior year in college 20 years ago. I don't
like the side effects and it never did do anything positive for me.

But, like various foods, I won't deny it to others that find it useful...

You need help Barry. I'd suggest YOU hang out there for awhile, or even
try something legal like Diviners sage. It might help you more than you
know.

That's not Barry, Om. He is not mean spirited like that.
And have you ever seen him post from prodigy?

This is a straight post using prodigy's news server and

How is someone in VA going to post from there?

BTW, it might take 15 minutes to find out who made the post.

Maybe take that 15 minutes next time before you smear someone.

You can turn off archiving. Quite a few of the folks on this group do
so.

Sorry hon', I'm no cybergenius like you are. :-)

When someone uses an alias, well... perhaps I made an improper
presumption and for that, I apologize.

I'm sure whoever it was is laughing.
They are welcome to the glee. I'm too tired to care as it's past my
bedtime and I'm sleep deprived yet again. <sigh>

You absolutely cannot "turn off" archiving.

Not only Google archives, and not everyone honors x-no-archives-yes.

Stupidity and ignorance are not the same.

I'm not enough of a cyber person to really know what to look for.

I am, however, always up for an education.

Please take this to private e-mail. Steve has my real one. ;-)

Ah, sorry. :-)

My reading comprehension drops off when I'm half-asleep.

I got only 3 1/2 hours sleep yesterday and am past my bed time now.

Maybe one of these years I'll work a "normal" schedule.

But in the mean time, this one pays 18% shift differential. <G>

I believe in giving people the benefit of the doubt first. :-)

A cowardly regular that I'd already killfiled decided to play games.

It's almost a shame that you are *** Greg. If you weren't, you would not
need to wear a condom for birth control. You could just use your
personality for birth control.

I love it when you sound like Mrs. Habersham, you foul old Queen.

Meanwhile ... you wouldn't make a bad patch on Barry's sweet ass.

All I wish for you is all you deserve in this life.

And I mean that.

Sincerely.
