Anyone know a brand of quality baking dark chocolate that has no milk
products in it? I was startled to find that Baker's now has baking chocolate with milk products. I don't want to use them anymore, but I thought I had to, then I found even they weren't going to work. Appreciate any help. bliss |

I Knew you were right about the quality of the chocolate, now I know it would work for me. Here's what their site says "Our 9.7 ounce Home Baking Bars (99% cacao, 70% cacao and 62% cacao) and our 2Kg propacks are nut and dairy free." Now if only they sold them here in rural Orange County NY! |

It also exists in 9.7oz bars for about $9-$12 a bar before shipping, but that contains lecithin. --thelma |

Look for any good quality dark chocolate. Ghiradelli would probably be a good choice for a baking chocolate, and it is often sold in the baking section of the supermarket. |

The reason I was going to Baker's is that Ghiradelli, Nestle Premium, Hershey Premium and several other brands not familiar to me had either butter or milk products in them or "possibly" in them whatever that may mean. I didn't see Scharffenbergers in the three stores I went to, so I don't know about them. |

You can use ANY chocolate for baking... in Australia we used to use Cadburys 'Energy' (dark) chocolate because it was better tasting than most of the so-called 'cooking' chocolates. So if you can find a dark chocolate you like that's dairy-free, just bake with that. |

I tried that none that I looked at in the chocolate store here in town, the speciality food market, or two supermarkets was reliably dairy free. Wonder why dairy is being added to dark choclate. I;m not sure, but I think I looked at Cadbury's, but I'll double-check. |

The only ingredient is "Unsweetened Cocoa" for one and "Unsweetened Chocolate for the other one. Both are good for baking. |
