OTOH, who knows buy looking at one on the shelf if it's going to do a
good job? Not all disposals are designed the same. I had one
disposal that worked like those weird ol' Vita-Mix blenders, in that
instead of having cutting blades, it had a little free swinging
hammer-like thingie that smashed everything into pulp. It worked
great on everything but citrus rinds and celery, which just became
more and more fibrous and mangled without being torn apart. Weird
unit.

I've always used In-Sink-Erator brand. I'm more loyal to that than I
am to cars or political parties.

Now you know where my loyalities lie. LOL!

Uh, that's how all garbage disposals work - they have a beater (hammer)
not blades.
