Default A really fast food recipe

Hi All,

I just posted a really fast food recipe over on Mark's site
that I though you guys might be interested in. It is for when
you are really tired and just want to eat. It is a bit
of a treat, due to the secret ingredient (you will have
to read the thread).

http://www.marksdailyapple.com/forum...ml#post1550829

:-)

Good Appetite!

Todd,

I just came to this group a few days ago. Found out I'm pre-diabetic.

Folks here are talking crap about you and I know you have them in the
kill file. You know a little bit about my recent health problems,
hospitalization, testing, etc.

I'm looking at the link you posted to that site. Sounds interesting as
I need to make some life changes. I'll read more.

Hi Oren,

Loved the link. The Trophy Wife laughs whenever
I play it. She really thinks it is funny.

This group can get on the nasty side at times.
Some of the drugs, especially Metformin, cause you
to get depressed, making you paranoid delusional.
You think everyone if picking on you. Makes from
some real sparks on groups like these. I had it
real bad. Had to do a lot of apologizing when I
finally got the s*** out of my system.

Metformin also causes hair loss, skin spots, sometimes
permanent insomnia, memory loss, cognitive decline,
spewing diarrhea, and depression (you act like
an ass hole).

Pre-diabetic is really easy to fix. You just have to
scale back on the carbs: switch to burning fat, eat
plants that have not been artificially hybridized for
unnatural amounts of carbohydrates, and meat.

Basically, what you will be doing is going back to the
was your ancestors ate for 99% of human history. The
human engine was not designed for high carbs.

And once you get going at it, it is really kind of fun.
You get to eat like a "Real Man", barbecue and all!
(Oh, I am going to catch s*** over that one!)

Since you are only pre-diabetic, you can probably
get you numbers down by lowering your carbs to
less than 100 grams per day, 25 max per meal.
Basically, you will want to discontinue grains
(wheat, rice, soy, corn) and high carb fruits
(apples, oranges, bananas). Also stay away
from potatoes and beans. And stay away from
cured meats. Go as natural or organic as you
can. Help if you have a community farm nearby.

I am on 60 per day, 15 max per meal. And currently
on 30 max per day until the stinkin' tumbleweeds
calm down. If your numbers don't come down,
just keep lowering your carbs.

Walmart has the best price on meters and supplies.

Here is a good place to start counting carbs:
http://nutritiondata.self.com
Look carefully at the "Glycemic Load". The lower
the better. You want to avoid spikes. Spikes are
what causes all the damage.

Here is good place to start with both diet and
lifestyle:
http://www.marksdailyapple.com/defin...mal-blueprint/
Start by just reading the chapter headers.

The lifestyle is very important. And you don't have to
be perfect or obsess over it. Note the part about eating
with friends/family/loved ones. And do not forget, as
the Chayenne say, "The brothers you find". (I have that
whole quote, if you ever want it.)

For exercise, the best one is the one you will do.
(I don't need an excuse to go fishing.)

Start by taking a daily walk with your wife. If
you have a dog, your wife and your dog. Wives
love walks with their husbands as they get them all to
their selves and get to talk about whatever they like.
(If she isn't chattering the entire time, you are not
doing it right.) The feedback of the shared love
is really good for your spirit and your healing.

Remember, the dog goes beside you, not in front of you.
Your are "Migrating", not "Seeking/hunting".

Here is a great cooking group along the lines
of what will heal you up:
http://www.marksdailyapple.com/forum/forum7.html

And there is a recipe for everything over he
http://www.marksdailyapple.com/primal-paleo-recipes/

One of these days, I am going to try the Enchilada
recipe.

And no one is on drugs and they cook low carb by choice.
They are not angry over it, like you find on this
and other diabetic groups. (Carbohydrate addiction
has killed many a Diabetic.)

If you need some herbs to help, I have a running list.
But you should be fine just lowering your carbs and getting
off the artificial ultra high carb food like substances.

I can also give you more stringent cooking site for
full drug free diabetics, like myself, but that should
not be an issue. If it is, you know where to find me.

Now go out and fire up the barbecue! Don't forget
all the vegis you can smother in olive oil and
cook along side the meat. Incredible! And if you are
still hungry, EAT ANOTHER SAUSAGE! You are going to
love this! And find some one to eat it with!

You must not look at this as a negative in your life.
This is the beginning of a whole new experience
that you are going to love. (The food is really,
really good!)

Rule: if it does not come from the produce section or
the meat section, it isn't food. And some of that is
not food either.

-T

I have a broccoli cheese soup that is so good! Let
me know. That is if you can put the steak, chicken,
sausages down.

By the way, natural fat (not chemistry set) is
not harmful to humans. It is the human engine's
preferred source of energy. And you can actually
survive just fine on a zero carb diet. You won't
have to though.

Todd's been doing the same over there on alt.home.repair. How is
that any different?

*You* can be nasty too Todd. Such as going to other newsgroups and saying
bad things about me there.

This may have happened to Todd, but these are not documented side effects at
all.

Were you ever pre-diabetic Todd? It is not easy to fix. My daughter has
it. Her BG is now always in range but she still has pre-diabetes. And
unless you address the insulin resistance which was severe in her case,
things aren't going to get better. She takes Metformin. No issues after
she switched to a specific brand and cut back on the dose. She did have
stomach issues.

I don't think anyone here eats high carbs Todd.

You are just pulling numbers out of a hat. There is no one size fits all.
A better suggestion might be to have his Dr. order a C-Peptide test to see
just how insulin resistant he really is. The Dr. could then decide what the
best treatment would be. He might need to see an Endocrinologist to do
that.

That never worked for me, Todd. We're all different. What I did recently
learn was that I might have intolerances to corn, potatoes and barley and a
few other thing. But those were the big three. I was eating them at least
twice a week. I have merely removed those from my diet and voila! All of a
sudden my BG is in range almost all of the time. The first two days it was
higher than it should be about half of the time but it is been almost in
range for a full 24 hours now. I think my highest number was 154. I even
pigged out on some crackers I made at 4:00 a.m. and I woke up to 124. So as
you can see, there is no one size fits all.

Note that I am not trying to imply that everyone has food intolerances. But
it would seem that for Tawley Trash (who doesn't seem to be posting at the
moment) and me, this certainly is the case.

This would be a moot point if he has insurance to cover these things.

This might work for some people but it is a badly flawed notion.

That's debatable.

Who are the Chayenne?

*I* am a wife. I don't love walks and I certainly wouldn't like one with my
husband! Please don't make rash assumptions.

OMG! Now you are telling him how to walk a dog?

You are making rash statements again. People are angry at *you* here
because of the things you say to and about us.

Then why are you here, Todd? You seem to like that group better. Perhaps
it is a better place for you.

This may not be good advice either. You don't know if he has other medical
problems. And many sausages are loaded with nitrates.

That's debatable too.

That's not true either. You yourself even mentioned olive oil which is in
neither of those places.

That's not necessarily true either and there is the school of thought that
BBQing makes carcinogens. You couldn't pay me to eat BBQed food.

Oh man. I knew he was badmouthing us over there but I didn't know to what
extent. I stopped reading the comments and even stopped posting to Usenet
for a few days when he began talking of guns and threatening to run me off.
He's a very frightening person!!!

The thing is, over there he actually said you threatened him with
physical violence. I don't post over there. I think there is
something innately cowardly about someone who talks trash about a
person when he killfiles that person so that he cannot see when the
person defends themselves. He has me killfiled too. I think he's
whacko. He also hasn't a clue about nutrition, OR what paleo man
really ate.

Yes. I saw that. I'm sure you know that never happened. I would never
threaten someone with violence but I will tell people to FOAD if they push
me too far. The man is seriously messed up. The talk of guns that he did
frightened me so very badly that I would not post to any newsgroups. And
you are right. He is a total wacko. I say this based on many things that
he has said here.

Yes he was. And he's not even a diabetic AFAIK. Are you? I don't remember
you posting over here before. As far as I'm concerned, there is nothing
funny about any of this. I went to alt.home.repair first because of troubles
with my water heater and then because of problems with my garage door
opener. I wasn't rude to anybody but all I got from most people there was a
bunch of flack. Thankfully there were a few people who actually did try to
help me.

So why then would Todd or Tony or whatever name he is using now, start
talking a bunch of nonsense about me? Why would he make up horrible lies
about me? And why would Pico be dragging up stuff from another newsgroup?
Both he and Todd/Tony both do that? And why are you even here?

I seriously feel like I am being stalked from newsgroup to newsgroup. And
there is no way ever that I would have told Todd that I would meet him in a
dark alley to beat him up or whatever silly thing it was that he claimed
that I said. I just don't talk like that. Not in real life or on a
newsgroup. As I have admitted, I will say "FOAD" to someone if they push me
to far. I'm pretty sure that everyone on this newsgroup knows that I have
said that. No, it's not a nice thing to say but I can only take so much.

Now again... Why are you here? Or could it be that there is some gamer
player out there who uses a bunch of different names?
