Angela and I were having a good day. She had an appointment last night at
our new medical clinic and on the way in, we noticed a sign that their pharmacy was going out of business and all the gifts were 40% off. I had already planned to look there for a gift for one person because they carried something I thought she would like. So I was pleased to see that it would be on sale. So we stopped in there before lunch and I was able to get Christmas presents for four people and at a very good price. Also another thing for our surprise ball. Our tradition is to make a giant surprise ball, as large as a basketball or bigger. We put some toys and money in it as well as things grownups might like, like nail clippers, toothpaste, lotion, nails, glue, etc. Then off to Red Robin. They were crowded, but the people waiting were contained within the building. We were told it would be about a 10-15 minute wait, but really it was more like 2 minutes. Got our table. Ordered two lettuce wraps with fries (no seasoning) instead of salad, and Angela got a milkshake. Thought things were fine. And if you're wondering why no salad, we have big salads waiting for dinner and I have to watch how much salad I eat. Things were a little slow. We were offered some fries while we waited. I initially turned them down but then began to feel ill because I had shot my insulin and not eaten. I was tempted to eat some ketchup. I then flagged down the waitress and said we would take the fries. We never got them. Food came. Two veggie burgers. I said, "No. Not what we ordered." Tried to say what we had ordered but was cut off by the waiter who immediately walked away. Food came again. Lettuce wrapped veggie burgers. Now if we weren't avoiding soy, I might have taken them. But I have no clue what the carb count is in those things. Eventually got the food and the meal was free. That part was nice, but it wasn't a good meal overall, despite all the waiting. Don't think we'll go there again. |

At least the price was right. ;-( Glad your gift shopping went well. How did Angela's appointment go? -- Nick. Support severely wounded and disabled Veterans and their families! That seemed to strike just before the appointment and then I had it yesterday. As for the reason we went there... I don't know. First Dr. (she saw twice) said it was a UTI. Someone from there since called and said it wasn't a UTI. Next Dr. said it was a yeast infection. This Dr. said it wasn't a UTI or a yeast infection and that I shouldn't have put the yeast cream on her. Grrr... He pretty much said it was chub rub, but deep inside. I don't quite buy this. Yeah, she may have that but it doesn't explain her previous symptoms or the fact that when given a sulpha drug, the symptoms came back. Then three days later, returned. I don't know if I made the right decision or not to switch to this new clinic. Yeah, they have better hours but I have gotten conflicting advice and don't know who (if anyone) to believe. |

Said that wrong. When given a sulpha drug, her symptoms abated, but came
back three days after she stopped the med. I shouldn't post before I have my caffeine! Finding out what's _really_ wrong with Angela is job one. She has to be properly treated _now_ to avoid a lifetime of complications, including possible infertility. -- Nick. That was a different Red Robin. I hated it. Daughter really wanted to go to the one in Bothell, still. But now she never wants to go back. Oddly, she is now asking to go to Shari's and she previously hated them. I don't much like them either, but it's one option for us. We can't dine at most places because of our food allergies. |
