Default Help diagnose oven problem

The oven in my range stopped working recently. It is a JennAir electric
convection oven, about 8 years old. Two years ago the electronic oven
controller board malfunctioned (the oven would heat, but after a few minutes
I got an error code and it shut down). I replaced the controller board
myself and the oven worked like new.

Now, all the display functions (clock, timer, temperature display, etc.)
work, all the touch pad controls work, and the broiler works. All the fans
come on (downdraft, convection, electronic cooling fan) correctly. The
broiler works fine. The lower heating element doesn't work at all. When I
turn on the oven, it will heat very slowly until it reaches the set point,
then it shift from pre-heat to what ever bake mode I select. Since the
lower element doesn't work, the temperature slowly drifts down to room
temperature. The pre-heat is accomplished entirely by the broiler element.
You can touch the lower element an it is completely cool.

It appears to me that the oven controller is working and probably the
temperature sensor. My assumption is that the bake element has failed, but
there is no visual sign of a problem. Any ideas would be appreciated. I
would like to fix the range myself. The biggest problem is the diagnosis as
I don't want to buy a big box of parts and then start trying to swap the out
until I am lucky. I also don't want to keep pulling the rang in and out as
it is a dual fuel, slide in, downdraft model that is calked into the
surrounding counter. By the time you disconnect the gas, electric, and
downdraft and disengage it from the calk, you have about half a day's work
in.

You may have already checked out these sites for troubleshooting hints.
These are the ones that my husband says that he uses.
Some of them will give you free basic advice; others you may have to pay for
detailed troubleshooting on your specific problem.
