Default Advice on storing/moving prepared food

Hi all,
when preparing ingredients for a meal I like to chop/prepare all of the
"bits" in one area of the kitchen before moving over to the oven/hob.

I currently put the chopped/prepared ingredients into individual
dessert bowls before moving them over - but the dessert bowls aren't
very good for this.

What do professionals store their prepared ingredients in immediately
before cooking them?

I picture some kind of stainless steel bowl, but I haven't seen any for
sale.

Thanks,
Ian
