I just got a Zojirushi 5-cup cooker, fuzzy logic but not induction.
It makes great sticky rice. However, it turned Spanish rice into sticky Spanish rice, and risotto into jook. Both were edible, and actually good, but how do you get the cooker to make rice which is not sticky or soupy? I figured that if you use the cup provided with the markings on the cooking bowl, then you will always get sticky rice. But, if you use a standard measuring cup and your own recipe, you will not get sticky rice. The dilemma---is the fuzzy logic cooker going to work around the recipes and produce sticky rice anyway, like it or not??? Also, I got the impression that when it is cooking, and you open the lid, it won't start cooking again till it cools off. Is this so? Help!!!!!!!! I can cook rice on the stove sort of, but dry it out and waste a lot as it sticks to the pan. |
