The labor and problems outweigh the results. $2 a blade is actually a good deal, about equal to a professional sharpening. They make this stuff by machine by the yard so it is economical. You might do some good touching up the blades. I assume the the blades are on a frame that will come out so you can have access to them all at once. I would look for a ceramic hone that will fit between them and give them a touch-up. A Zip Zap or the hones from a SharpMaker come to mind. You might even try one of the tungsten carbide sharpeners. Several have shapes that would reach these blades. If the blades are single bevel, you will want to replace one of the TC cutters with a plastic block.
