Best Way to Clean my Char-Griller???
I have a Char-Griller that I've been using for about a month now(I
haven't used the SFB yet)- I place the charcoal on one side of the main grill, and the meat on the other. I use it 4-6 times per week, and it's gotten pretty cruddy. I called the Char-Griller company and asked how best to clean it, and they said "don't bother"! YUCK!! What is the best way to clean it? I'm afraid to get it wet when cleaning it, for fear that it will rust. What do you recommend? Thanks again, Jim |

Jim, I have a bullet smoker made of stainless. After smoking for 12+ hours
it is a mess. I spray Easy-Off Low Fume formula on everything and place it a plastic garbage bag overnight. The next morning all I have to do is rinse. I have a gas grill whose box is cast aluminum and Easy-Off gets it clean too including the glass window. The low fume formula is sprayed on cold metal. You don't have to wait overnight to rinse it. I think the can says an hour or so. It's great stuff. You can probably get away without the pre-oiling when your fire grates going to be at the lowest setting, but you're sure to burn off your seasoning when you grill steaks or such. Adding oil after a hot grilling session when the metal is bare aint a bad thing either. |

If cleaning grates causes you too much grief, just run them through a self cleaning oven. As for the rest of the interior, I periodically just knock the loose stuff off and leave the rest alone. I realize that some folks need things to be squeaky clean. I just ain't one of them. -- The Brick® said that (Work harder; millions on welfare depend on you. ) ----== Posted via Newsfeeds.Com - Unlimited-Uncensored-Secure Usenet News==---- http://www.newsfeeds.com The #1 Newsgroup Service in the World! 120,000+ Newsgroups ----= East and West-Coast Server Farms - Total Privacy via Encryption =---- |
