We can carry on with this happy horseshit, or we can go to our respective
corners, agree that we don't like each other much, and agree to live and let
live. If you don't like my posts, add your own information in the thread
without disrespecting or attacking me, and I'll do the same. I'll wait for
your reply to this post, and ignore -- for now -- any response to the other
thread, due to the time-lag and cross-posted messages.

Ball's in your court.

Don't let it get to ya Bugg. Most of us don't care what others say about
ya. We like you.
Usenet is a funny thing. Flame wars over nothing. Truth is, if most of
us were to meet face to face, we would probably really like each other.
Hell, we would probaly have everyone over for a cook out, as we all share
the same interest.
It's hard to determine the exact meaning behind typed words without the
face to face body language. I certainly hope with all my heart that CAL
can agree with me on this.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to seeing your Q joint open, and hope you
are so successful you start a mail order take out like our famous
Montgomery Inn Rib joint here in Cincinnati. Bob Hope had slabs flown in
once a week til he kicked.

Personally, I think the ribs really suck, but....they get an awful lot of
kudo's.
Hell, I live just outside of Dayton myself. If you're ever here, let me
know and I'll throw a thing or two on the smoker. Hopefully the K will be
here in a month or two and I can get some good pointers on Q from you.
Seriously Bugg, if you're in the area let's do some eatin.

And Kevin's. I'm with you, I wish they'd ignore him or at least take it
up in a separate thread so I can plonk the thread itself.

Come on man, I don't dislike you one bit. This is all supposed to be in good
spirits and most of all FUN.

You have a lot in your *real life* court right now so don't feel obligated
to respond to my post and I realize that. Do as the others say and don't let
me or anyone (including the morphing poweranger vern) else get to you on
usenet or bbs. Regardless of the perceived hate or animosity, it is all in
good spirits. It is just buds taking jabs at each other on sore points. That
is why I stick around, though the K remarks are obviously stirring up shit,
it is with good intent an no hatred. It is all a game.

It is odd that you have to resort to a killfile but you continue to take
great interest in me still.

Be a man Jacky boy, and quit hiding behind that kf. You would probably be
better off continuing taking pot shots without fear of seeing the
retaliation.

Now *that's* a great idea all the way around. A little less
poking, a little less flaming, a little less plonking...
c'mon folks, Q is about one of the most relaxing things
you can do and still be awake, and the results are among
the most gratifying things known to man. So why not have
more good spirits?

Kamado, offset, bullet, file cabinet, *whatever*.

Sometimes we'll differ in opinions, sometimes we'll
express ourselves strongly. But let's remember, every
one of us that likes to BBQ and eat BBQ has way more
in common than we don't.

Cheers,
Dana

P.S. Is *anyone* gonna take me up on the offer of
a beer in August at the KCBS West Coast Championsips?
Maybe someone could write Duwop a note and tell Dale
he's invited, 'cause apparently he's still got me
plonked.

I doubt there are many that stick around more than a few days that don't
share the same feeling. This one of those things that you do but
unfortunately people on the otherside can't truly see you laughing as you
push the send button.

I was hoping me asking about your new cooker and other questions would have
given you light of my real nature but it must not have been as obvious as I
had liked.

OK, jab at a fire to stir up some smoke and tell us about it.

Well, I started on a $15 Mr. Meat bullet. I think it was leakier than an ECB.
Thought the more gray billowing smoke the better. Learned more by accident than
experience. I at least had the sense to try to remember what happened when I
turned out something decent.

Then I found a.f.b. and well, the rest is history. ;-)

Heh. I think we've all been there. I started out with Weber charcoal
grill, burning Kingsford briquettes, and tossing way too many soaked
wood chips into a little cast iron box. I still have the snap-in
grates to hold the briquettes off to the side of the Weber...

You are in the Cincinnati area? Cool. I grew up in Blue Ash, graduated
from Sycamore, and now reside in Falmouth, Ky. Still work at GE in
Evendale. Maybe you would like to visit the country for some BBQ sometime
:-)

Very good. My wife and I will be having our 14th annual pig roast next year
in August. We couldn't do it this year because of house renovations. You
can e-mail me an address if you would like an invitation sent to you, if
you'd like. It's a 2-day event, and I encourage people to stay the night--I
have a camping area. I use a large, towable, stainless steel propane pig
roaster (sans rotisserie) that I cook the pork on. I have the porker,
around 130-150 lbs., cut in eight peices, and roast the pig under cover for
around five hours. I smoke with mesquite. I will say that, listening to
the posters here, I am going to maintain a temp. range for bbq, i.e. 200-250
degrees, and cook for six to eight hours this next time. That would be more
traditional, don't you think? After all, it is only fitting that I use some
of the information that I learn from the rest of you. Anyway, it's a pretty
good time, with beer and food provided. Everyone brings a dish of some
sort, your choice, and lawn chairs, and you're good to go. The barbeque
sauce is provided by Hickory Villa, Cave City, Kentucky, and is awesome. I
usually get at least a gallon at a time, it is that good.

But, I imagine we could eat some bbq before that, eh? I don't think
Maineville is that far away.....we can get something going, I'll tell you
what!
