Default Infrared BBQ grills

Sigh.

So, my gas grill is on its last legs. Rotting out. Needs to be replaced.

And I'm wondering about infrared BBQ grills. The very first one I read
about would let you cook with gas, charcoal and/or infrared but the
price nearly made me swallow my tongue.

What features are worth having? Minimum BTUs? Reasonable price?

I have not had any personal experience with the IR grills, but I do know
many now have one burner or section with IR-based heat, mainly for searing
steaks and the like. I know Napoleon Grills have a good reputation and were
one of the first to bring infrared technology to home grills.

Very cool looking grills. Their charcoal grills look overly fancy, but
nevertheless well-made.
