Hello, All!
Does anyone know where you can buy banana blossom in the DC area? I know shredded cabbage is regarded as an alternative in salads but I'd like to try the real thing some time. James Silverton Potomac, Maryland E-mail, with obvious alterations: not.jim.silverton.at.comcast.not |

I love this store - Grand Mart. The one I shop at is at Centerville. I can't vouch for the other stores. It is definitely not just a Korean store as may be indicated online. It is Hispanic as well; and I see lots of Indian and various ethnic Asian people shopping there. The produce department is stupendous. There is no lack of variety. The prices are great. http://www.answers.com/topic/grand-mart Dee Randall Shenandoah Valley, VA |

I have thought of one or two places that I have not tried yet. James Silverton Potomac, Maryland E-mail, with obvious alterations: not.jim.silverton.at.comcast.not |

Well, to my surprise, I found banana blossom in the College Plaza, Rockville MD branch of the McGruder's supermarket today. The blossom was more expensive than cabbage as you might expect but it was a fairly good salad. Sadly, I have to admit that I prefer cabbage! Perhaps they might prefer cabbage as well - ;-)) Thanks for the follow-up. Dee > |
