Default Novice grape grower - needing help please

I acquired 2 grape cuttings (1 Concord and 1 Niagra)from my Grandfather

before he passed and I planted them on the side of my house.

I built a large Pergola and trained the plants up and over it.

Finally, this year I have a ton of grapes growing (25-30 bunches).
Being a novice, and not being able to find information elsewhere on the

web, I figured I would try here.

1) How do I know when to harvest the grapes (I realize that it is in
the Fall)?

2) What is the best way to keep birds from swiping my crop?

Thanks in advance for any help you could provide

Where are you? The picking season in PA for those is usually late
September; both of those come ripe earlier than others. You can get
netting for the birds. If you are anywhere near Erie, PA call Presque
Isle Wine Cellars and they will either have what you want or will point
you in the right direction.

If you intend to make wine from this we can walk you through that too.
It makes itself actually.

Thanks Joe.

I am in West Hartford, CT.

Do I have enough of a crop to make wine without supplementing?
