Default meaning of the term "racking"?

This just came up in alt.usage.english and I want to check my work.

AIUI, the term "racking" means transferring liquid from one container
(or set) to another container (or set), so it includes both
intermediate racking stages for sediment removal and clarity *and*
bottling (racking into bottles).

Right or wrong?
