YES! Freezing breaks down the skin. I always freeze any fresh fruit prior

Freezing them brings to advantages:
They become easier to clean with a lot less mess by berries juice all over. And the freezing and subsequent thawing will ease the extraction of juice from the berries when pressing. You're right. Hard fruits though, like Rhubarb, really soften up nicely,
after freezing and thawing before making wine. Darlene from freezing beforehand.
