Does anyone have any information on how this years grapes are progressing?
I'm keen to find a cheep source for around 20-30 cases of either Ruby Cabernet or Cabernet Sauvignon grapes (or a blend of both). I'm currently in the northern suburbs of Melbourne Vic but am willing to either travel or pay for freight for good grapes. Any help will be appreciated. |

Yes it is the season here in Australia. At the time of posting my message you would have thought I was in the northern hemisphere. However, since posting that message, and in the last week, grapes have appeared in abundance. Even roadside traders are popping up. Now my decision appears to be how do I know which grapes to buy. Last year I made a straight Ruby Cabernet. This year I'd like to make a Cab Sav / Merlot or Cab Sav / Shiraz would 60/40 be about right for those varieties respectively. Hi Charles,
If you ring or visit "Australian Winemakers" next the Victoria Market, they have plenty of grape growers ads in their window. There seems to be no shortage of grapes in Victoria...
