Hi ...something tells me to get started on this early.Does anyone know
of any growers in Nova Scotia,Quebec or Ontario who sell fresh grapes to the home winemaker? I bought california grapes last fall but would prefer to buy "local"....Red wine grapes are my main interest.....of course price is a consideration as well as shipping costs as I live in New Brunswick....Andy J. |

Rumour has in in my area (New Zealand) that wineries allow people to
hand-pick after the mechanical pickers have been through. There would seem to be some truth in the rumours because a few years back I was a 2nd-hand recipient of some grapes, but at the moment I'm still trying to find a source to the season about to start. I drive past vineyards everyday so I'm ideally situated. And I fod 2 buckest off my own vine last weekend, which is a table grape type rather than a wine grape. There are vineyards in Nova Scotia, that is where I would look to first, shipping from Ontario would be expensive unless you can team up with some other vintner's to split costs. -- charles "Once ... in the wilds of Afghanistan, I lost my corkscrew, and we were forced to live on nothing but food and water for days." - W.C. Best I can do is this page from the Amateur Winemakers of Ontario website. http://www.makewine.com/resource/grapes99.html It might be outdated and you would have to check to see if they ship, these might be for local pickup only.
