As I posted in another thread I've found a local store that
has grapes shipped up from CA on a regular basis in the fall. I've also read about how producers will try to pick their entire crop in the early morning or during the night to get the effects of the cool temperatures. What are the effects of shipping grapes 3000 miles then? I think they said by truck so I have to guess at a 1 or 2 day journey. I know that the mileage (pun intended) will vary depending on temperature and length of trip but are there any definite changes in the grapes while being shipped long distances. Don |
