Marimar Estate Cristina Russian River Pinot Noir 2005 *****
So I asked my wife if it is still easter so we should open a good wine, or its just a normal night before a working day. she voted for easter. So I opened this one. This is really my favourite pinot noir. Too bad it is so hard to find outside the winery. Even there it sells out fast. Even at 10 years it has a lot of power left in it, with tannins, earth, cedar, leather and hay, stewed strawberries, lingering finish. My wife's notes were not as graceful. "Smells like puke". had a sip. "Ooh and apparently I like that!" I only have one bottle of 2009 and one of 2010 left now. Hopefully I can get a 2011 next year if Im very watchful which 2-3 days it is available in the store. Why are all my fav. wines so hard to get. |
