If you refer to wines and spirits, there are still many full of bitter herbs, etc that many people , especially young people, do not like at first but often end up drinking them on a regular basis. Vermouth comes to mind, but Italy, France, Spain, etc. have many wines and spirits that are quite bitter. They perhaps are not as popular in the US as in parts of Europe. Also bone dry wines can be somewhat of an acquired taste. Many young people start drinking somewhat sweet wine, but then enjoy very dry wines after a few years. |
