Default Kapcsandy Wines 2006 and 2007

Had some outstanding wines from Napa at a local Dean/Deluca wine
tasting. There were the Kapcsandy wines and the Chateau Boswell. Both
had outstanding wines.

I'd post notes but then you guys might want to seek these out. They
are small quantity prouductions of some of the finest in Napa. I was
fortunate to be able to get a case assorted.

Has anyone here heard of these wineries.

John Kongsgaard used to make his wine at Boswell until he built his
new facility. Drew Nieman used to make his wines there also and was
the winemaker until replaced by Luc Morlet. I've had the wines a few
times over the past few years. My recollection was that the wines
were good.

Luc Morlet was the winemaker for the vintages just tasted. They were
good, but pricey.

I like the Champagne from Morlet also.

Yes his family champagne is excellent. Interesting that you used the
terms "good but pricey". I was an investor and partner for a few
years in a distributorship that sold Luc's wines (as well as Boswell,
Knogsgaard, etc) and I used those terms to describe his wine
"Porportion Doree" ... he was using a google search feature and read
my review in this forum and he was very upset that I thought $85 for
sauvignon blanc was pricey!! Our problem in sell both his wines,
Kongsgaard wines and Boswell wines was..they were good but pricey.

His Champaige is he closest thing I have had to Krug...so at $55 a
bottle, it saved me money...but then the reds I bought were pretty
high. But they were the To Kalon vineyard and I think about the best
or one of the best in Napa. So, I paid for them dearly!
