Fake wines fined
As opposed to French find fake wines.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/americas/8520980.stm Crucial to good faking is believability. Note that the court found .. . . the amount of Pinot Noir being sold to Gallo was far more than the region produced. Joseph Coulter Joseph Coulter Cruises and Vacations www.josephcoulter.com |

Perhaps it is time for the person responsible for the purchase to be getting on his (or her) Bicyclette, of whatever colour, and looking for either his palate or his common sense. I suppose it might be said in mitigation of the offences that, in the unlikely event that properly trained professional buyers did taste but could not tell the difference, little actual harm has been done for I suspect that most of those buying this wine would not then know the difference either. I personally do not for a moment think that justifies the fraud but it does make me wonder again whether the oft repeated request that varieties be put on bottle labels would be of real assistance to anybody who claims that they need that help.
