Default 2006 Morlet Family "La Proportion Doree"

2006 Morlet Family La Porportion Doree- I met Luc Morlet a few years
ago when he placed his wines at our distributorship. Luc started his
in his family champagne house, worked at various wine houses in France
and eventually moved to Napa where he's been making wine for Newton,
Peter Michael, Staglin and Chateau Boswell. He started making his own
wine a few years ago concentrating on Pinot Noir and a wonderful
Semillion, Sauvignon Blanc, Muscadelle blend called "La Proportion
Doree". The blend is mostly Semillion with about a third SB and a
touch of Muscadelle. Very rich and oily in the glass. Nose of lemon
zest, orange marmalade and wet stones. Nice citrusy tang on the
palate with a lush mouthfeel. Plenty of ripe up front fruit with fig,
and a touch of mango a little petrol and mineral on the finish. A bit
pricey at $60 which I assume is a product of the ultra low production
of this wine.

Disclaimer-I distribute this wine in Ohio and Kentucky

I love Indiana but there really isn't too much room for another
distributor and most of the wines that we handle are already being
handled by some else in Indiana. As an OSU alum I especially love the
IU basketball coaching situation and I miss Gene Keady's comb
over....;-)
