Default Rubystars' first fruit soup

1 plastic cup full of peppermint tea
1/2 honeydew melon
3 strawberries
1 capful of lemon or lime juice (I think lime would have been better, but
lemon was all I had).
1 package of sweet & low

Put all into the blender and blend.

Chill the soup or do what I did, pour it in the honeydew shell you just
hollowed out with some ice. It made about three portions that way

hmmm...fruit soup...always seemed weird to me. i'm a little wary of
anything that calls itself soup but isn't steaming hot...and of course, hot
fruit soup just ain't right! how was your fruit soup?

Gazpacho is served cold. Other soups are also great served cold.

A brand name for saccharin.

It was good, like a tropical drink.

Thanks for that.
I'd guess just add sugar or something to taste then (if it needs any
sweetening at all with strawberries and honeydew melon in it).

A saccharine sugar substitute. If you've been to restaurants in the U.S.
you've probably seen it in pink little packets.

Are you nuts? What about nice cold gazpacho, or nice
cold borscht, or nice cold vichyssoise? Those are some
of the most delicious soups imaginable.

see...maybe that's my block. i'm a hot soup kinda gal...and if it's fruity
and cold, i guess i'd just rather drink it out of a glass. i mean, isn't
fruit soup just a tropical drink in a bowl? so you'd be drinking a tropical
drink with a spoon. ehh...i dunno. maybe i'll try it one of these days.

ooo...but i do like the honeydew shell part though. (and the mint tea thing
sounds like it would be tasty)...maybe i'll try making it but drink it out
of the honeydew shell with a straw or something ()

Why? Try making it yourself, silly.

Nobody says you have to eat soup (hot or cold) from a bowl.

No, it's fruit soup.

And you object to being called a drama queen... hehe.

Try some other favorite herbal tea if you don't like mint.

It's sort of like that. A lot of vegetable soups are liquid too though, like
cream of mushroom. If you wanted to, you could throw chunks of fruit into
the fruit soup to make it more hearty.

I made another one today with some papaya, banana, and a little skim milk. I
didn't even need to sweeten it.

It probably would have been good with vanilla soy milk too.

What sort of gazpacho was it? There are lots of ways to make it.
Some are very bready, some have no bread. Some are vegan, while
others have raw egg white or hard-boiled egg yolk, or chicken stock.

Here's my recipe:

I do recommend it.
