Vegan (alt.food.vegan) This newsgroup exists to share ideas and issues of concern among vegans. We are always happy to share our recipes- perhaps especially with omnivores who are simply curious- or even better, accomodating a vegan guest for a meal!

Sorry I'm late discovering this opportunity posted to the yahoo rare
fruit group. I don't know if the land is already sold but here is the
message from last month:

Dear Peace Ohana,
The owner of land adjacent to Malu Aina (Kurtistown area on Hawaii
Island) has informed me that he intends to put the the 11.1 parcel of
land on the market in 10 days. He has given me the courtesy of those
10 days for first consideration of purchase. Asking price $250,000.
The land TMK 3-1-7-2-16 is kipuka deep soil and was once all in sugar
cane about 20-30 yrs. ago. A few acres are currently on a month to
month lease for growing dracena.
Malu Aina is not in a position to purchase the land but I thought I
would put it out there in case there are others interested. The land
is in a good location 1/2 mile makai of the Kurtistown gas station and
J. Hara General store at about 600-700 feet elevation. Being adjacent
to us we would be interested in people doing organic sustainable ag --
growing organic food crops for local consumption.
If there are people who might be interested in forming a hui,
purchasing it individually, or donating toward the purchase, and/or
other possibilities regarding this land, please get in touch.
Mahalo.
