Hello,
I've been lurking/learning for about 6 weeks or so, and this is my first post. I've also recently discovered the joys of loose tea, and am becoming (HA!) obsessed - I'm sure some of you remember those days! Today while in TJMaxx I headed directly to the gift/food area, and they had tins of Wedgwood loose tea (and boxes of tea bags) and also tins of Croydon's Teas - including paper tea filters in the tin. As soon as I got home, I googled - I can't find anything about either! Croydon's Teas has a website, but it comes up as "not found" which makes me wonder if the company still exists. Before I race back to purchase... anyone know anything about these teas? IIRC, the Wedgwood blends teas were English Breakast, Earl Grey, Queen Anne... and I think a name blend. And Croydon's was English Breakfast. Thank you, and thank you for so much helpful information! Best, Resa |

Hi, Resa. Sorry that I don't know about the teas about which you're inquiring, but "Welcome! Glad to see you delurking," anyway ![]() -- ~~Bluesea~~ Spam is great in musubi but not in email. I'm feeling rather brave regarding tea today - I ventured into the tea shop here (Dobra) and branched out beyond (Upton, IPOT, etc.) Earl Grey and English Breakfast, purchasing small amounts of a 1st flush darjeeling, an assam, and a keemum. I know - amazingly brave! LOL! I would have moved into the shop (the teas are stored in what looks like a very oversized old-fashioned library card catalog chest - I was so tempted to just open each drawer and look) and never left, but seven hours later my head still aches from the overwhelming incense. Typical commercial British blends sold at a discount in such stores.
Both are versions of English Breakfasts. When it comes to a breakfast blend you'll find one you like. I just checked the sites that carried Croydon's and it seems to have disappeared. Maybe they went bellyup. That would make the tin worth more than the tea. Wedgwood is a tea company of over two hundred years.
