Debra's Natural Gourmet in Concord, but now that you mention it, they may only be able to get 50 lb bags. Back when I was considering buying a grinder, before I plunked down the cash, I wanted to make sure I could find a reliable local source nearby for grains. I called all over and was strung along by Whole Foods for a couple of months before finally they told me they couldn't get it. I was just about to give up until I stumbled on Debra's, which is just up the road from me here in Watertown. I asked about all kinds of grains, rye chops among them. I think they said they could get 25 lb bags, but I could be mixing it up with some of the other grains I asked about. The rye and soft white wheat I bought has been great, but I'm disappointed in the hard red spring wheat I bought. I've found little rocks, berries still encased in the husk, little black woody nibs of ... something. It's not too much of a pain to sort, but I'm annoyed I have to sort at all. Where is Savage? I'm not familiar with them. |
