Peaches-n-Cream Yogurt Smoothie
Yield: three snacks (for men) or four snacks (for women) Ingredients 1 cup plain low-fat yogurt 1/3 ounce unflavored protein powder, preferably unsweetened egg white or whey protein powder 1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract (nonalcoholic, glycerine base) 1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg or powdered ginger 1/8 teaspoon stevia extract powder 1 whole peach, cut up and frozen 1 teaspoon almond oil or 1 teaspoon unsweetened almond or cashew butter 3 to 4 ice cubes, optional Instructions Place yogurt and protein powder in the blender. Cover and blend until smooth. Stop blender and scrape down the sides with a spatula, if needed. Add vanilla, nutmeg or ginger, stevia, frozen peaches, and oil or nut butter. Blend until smooth. For added thickness, add 3 to 4 ice cubes, then blend until thick, creamy, and icy. Serve immediately or refrigerate in a small jar or chilled thermos bottle. Serve within 24 hours. -- GO YANKEES!! |
