2/3 cup brown sugar, packed
1/2 cup butter or margarine 1 egg 1 tsp. vanilla 1 cup flour 1/2 tsp. baking soda 1/2 cup coarsely chopped pecans 1/2 tsp. salt 2/3 cup chopped cherries (candied) 1/2 cup candied pineapple, chopped 1/2 cup whole hazelnuts 1 lb dates, pitted 1/2 cup walnuts, coarsely chopped Cream sugar and butter until light and fluffy; add egg and vanilla. Beat well. Stir together flour, soda and salt and add to creamed mixture. Stir in fruit and nuts; chill batter at least one hour. Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls onto cookie sheet and bake at 325 degrees for 12 minutes. -- Rec.food.recipes is moderated by Patricia Hill at .
