Default Turnip Casserole

Turnip Casserole

1 medium turnip
1 cup applesauce
3 Tablespoons butter
2 teaspoons sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper
1 egg
2 Tablespoons melted butter
3/4 cup bread crumbs

Peel, cube and cook turnip. Mash well. Combine mashed turnip with next
six ingredients and place in a greased casserole dish. Combine melted
butter and bread crumbs and put on top of casserole. Heat, uncovered, at
350 F for 30 minutes. This casserole may be prepared ahead of time and
kept in refrigerator. Heat just before serving.
