Default Keftedakia [Appetizer Meatballs]

Keftedakia [Appetizer Meatballs]

1 lb. ground beef
1/2 cup soft bread crumbs [1 slice]
1 tsp salt
Dash ground cinnamon
1 medium onion, grated
1 Tbsp chopped parsley
1 Tbsp chopped fresh mint
1 egg
1/4 cup Greek ouzo or other anise-flavored liqueur
Flour
2 Tbsp olive or vegetable oil

Combine beef, bread crumbs, salt, cinnamon, onion, parsley, mint, egg and ouzo
in a large bowl; mix lightly with a fork, just until combined. Shape meat
mixture into small balls about the size of a quarter. Roll meatballs in flour
to coat evenly; place in a single layer on a cookie sheet; refrigerate one
hour. Heat oil in large skillet; add meatballs. Cook over medium-high
heat, tossing and turning often, until evenly browned and done, about
10 minutes.
