Sample Recipes
HOT RASPBERRY CIDER
------------------------------------------------------------------------

8 cups fresh apple cider

1/4 cup sugar

1 cinnamon stick

1 cup frozen raspberry juice concentrate, thawed


Combine cider, juice, sugar and cinnamon stick in a 4 quart saucepan.
Heat over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until mixture begins to
simmer. Reduce heat and simmer 10 minutes. Remove from heat. Remove
cinnamon stick and serve hot. Transfer to a slow cooker and keep
setting on low to serve throughout your brunch. 8 cups.

LIST: 64 oz fresh apple cider, 8 oz frozen raspberry juice concentrate
**AOH** sugar, cinnamon stick

COBBLER
------------------------------------------------------------------------

2 cups tart apples, peeled & sliced

1/4 cup honey

2 T melted butter

2 cups granola cereal

1 tsp cinnamon


Spray inside of 3-4 quart slow cooker with nonstick cooking spray. Add
apples, cereal and cinnamon to slow cooker and mix well. Stir together
honey and butter in a small bowl; drizzle over apple mixture. Mix
gently. Cover and cook on low 8 hours until apples are tender.

LIST: 4 tart apples, 16 oz granola cereal **AOH** cinnamon, honey,
butter
FROM THE ORIGINAL BOOK

CHICKEN CASSOULET
------------------------------------------------------------------------
4 chicken breasts, cubed
1/2 c. chopped celery
2 cans northern beans
1 pkg. Kielbasa sausage, sliced
2 cans red kidney beans
1 can Italian stewed tomatoes
1/2 c. chopped onion
1 1/4 c. water

Combine all ingredients and pour into slow cooker. Cover and cook on
low for 8
hours. RECOMMENDED SIDE: Rice

Shopping List: 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, 2 cans northern
beans, 2 cans red kidney
beans, celery, 1 package Kielbasa sausage, 1 can Italian stewed
tomatoes **AOH** onion


FROM VOLUME II-LOW CARB

------------------------------------------------------------------------
LOW CARB CRANBERRY HAM
------------------------------------------------------------------------

1 lb bag fresh or frozen cranberries, rinsed and picked over

1 cup sugar twin granular sweetener

1 cup water

1 1/2 T prepared horseradish

salt to taste

3 lbs boneless ham

Add all ingredients, except ham to the slow cooker and mix well.
Place ham on top of the cranberry mixture. Cover and cook on low for 7
hours, stirring sauce (around the ham), halfway through the cooking
process. Let ham rest in the slow cooker, uncovered, for 10 minutes
before slicing. Top ham with cranberry sauce when serving.

Carbs: 7 g per serv (appx 8 servings)

LIST: 1 lb fresh/frozen cranberries, horseradish, 3 lbs boneless ham
**AOH** sugar twin, salt
FROM OUR KIDS INSERT

CAKECONES
------------------------------------------------------------------------
1 package cake mix

1 16 oz can frosting

candy sprinkles

24 flat bottom ice cream cones

Preheat oven as directed on the cake mix package. Prepare cake mix
according to the package directions. Spoon enough batter into ice cream
cones to fill 1/2 full. Arrange cones on a baking sheet. place in
oven and Bake for 20 to 25 minutes or until cake tests done. (insert
toothpick in center of cake so it comes out clean) Remove cones to wire
rack to cool completely. Spread each cupcake with frosting. Decorate
with candy sprinkles.
