Hi all- been reading for quite a few months- thought I'd try to get
involved- some great insights here. I'm in the Seattle area, and recently discovered a grocery store I know I'll be returning to. Trying to avoid the nasty Friday commute home on Hwy 99 in Federal Way, I made my husband stop at this store we've driven by, but never stopped at. It's called H Mart. It is catered to the Asian community. Some of the most beautiful produce I've ever seen, even if I didn't know what it was. Also, lots of fresh looking fish. We bought some tenderloins for 10.99 a lb. and they were like butter. Anyway, I enjoy looking in grocery stores for unusual items, and this store is definitely one to see- 312th and Hwy 99 |

I went into my first one (Vacaville) yesterday. Their vegetable department is absolutely beautiful! |

They are in the process of building a new Nugget supermarket in Roseville, CA at Pleasant Grove Blvd and Sunset Blvd. This is near Interstate 80 at Hwy 65. It will probably be finished and ready to open in the fall of 2006 or spring of 2007. Rusty |

Ever since my girlfriend (who works in Davis, where there are two of them) told me how good the Nugget markets are, I've been watching that construction with great interest. Your location is off by more than a mile, though; the Roseville Nugget will be located at Pleasant Grove Boulevard and Fairway Drive. The chain has a web site which lists its other stores. There are several in the Sacramento area. (see http://www.nuggetmarket.com/ for details.) Bob |

Bob Terwilliger, after taking an infinite amount of time, finally, on 12

That and the 8% charge for premade turkey burgers vs. ground "roll yer own"! The BUMS!!! Andy |

Fairway at Pleasant Grove Blvd. I should have zoomed closer into Yahoo Maps. There has been a sign on that corner for a couple of years announcing that the Nugget was coming. It would probably have been built by now if the site wasn't so rocky. The site they picked to build on was full of 6-inch rounded rocks. The rocks look like they were once on a river bottom. The contractors set up some equipment that makes the place look like a gravel pit. They have been digging and sifting the soil at the site for over a year, separating the rocks and hauling them away. Recently they finally started building the shopping center. Rusty |

From what I saw of it, Nugget would be a very nice addition to the neighborhood. |

In my little corner of the world, "Nugget" is a brand of shoe polish. :-)) -- Die dulci fruere, Nicolaas. .... The best way to make your dreams come true is to wake up. |

Nugget markets are terrific. I work in Davis at the Uni, and stop by those markets whenever I can. The one on Covell (?) is practically a tourist attraction in and of itself! It would be so cool if they would build one near S. Natomas where I live. TammyM |

It was too soon to move though, so we've dropped it. American Canyon is closer to the city and between various scattered relatives, so we're looking there now. I won't retire for a couple of years, so we still have lots of looking time ahead of us. Ultimately, we'll probably just downsize and stay in the city. |

South is not a particularly nice neighborhood. Think "wrong side of the tracks". TammyM |
