Had to run some errands as I'm finalizing my out of town preparations. I
leave in the morning after dropping off Persia, my cat, and Peaches, my lovebird, to be boarded. So I went back to that 'little store' for some stuff to snack on today. Hmmm, I'll take a half a dozen hot wings (they divided them into the drummies and the other part, sans the tips). The woman said, "Oh, these are small. I'll give you some extras." 9 hot wings, a buck fifty. She only had 6 left so I said, "What the heck, I'll take the rest of them!" So for $2.50 I got 15 hot wing pieces. I'm about to reheat some of them in the oven. Now continuing with the chicken theme... for dinner I ordered 2 fried chicken thighs (I prefer the dark meat and the drumsticks were gone). For one vegetable I got some white (Great Northern beans) that had been simmered with chopped ham. Green beans (again) for my other one. They simmer the green beans with slices of white onion, garlic and a little bit of pork, possibly fried salt pork; it's diced so fine and trimmed of the fat it's hard to tell. I just know it's not ham and it's not bacon. I know this isn't healthy food but really, I don't eat it all that often. I'm more into grilling or broiling tilapia and steaming broccoli and the like. Right now I'm just too busy and too filled with anticipation to care ![]() Jill |
