Man, I miss shopping sprees like this. Since we adopted DS, it's "Run
to the store after his nap, before he melts down and run home quick!"
I can maybe sneak in two stores with him, if I am lucky. I love the
Dollar stores, BTW, especially their olives.

Dude, I am tired just reading all of that!

I hear ya... Mind you, I have never really been a "real" shopper - go
in, get what I want (from a list) and get out quick... unless it was
Christmas shopping - I used to enjoy that... what I miss the most is
being able to stop for a cup of coffee or a snack somewhere anytime..
its a bit difficult to do that when you've got a little one with you -
I just can't do that to my fellow shoppers!

Cheers

Fred Meyer (grocery) here has a little sprog play area where you can
drop them off to play with a babysitter for an hour. It has a
playhouse, toys, crayons, etc. DS just turned two and *loves* it,
although I *swore* I would never let him go in there. It's a nice way
to pick up the essentials - or stop for a java (in store Staryucks) or
whatever, unincumbered. We also have a great coffee house that is
geared for Parents - Toney Baloneys: http://www.toneybaloneys.com/ I
love to go there for tea, sit and relax an just let him play.

We have one or two places like that here, but not where I usually shop,
I am afraid. Would be ideal. I assume you are in the States? We are in
South Africa, BTW.

Yes, I live in Oregon, in the PNW. Portland is a very liberal city and
there is a lot to do with kids, here.
