Default Hot fudge sundae cake

I used to make hot fudge sundae cake when I was poor and in college and needed
cheap munchie food or a dessert nicer than a bucket of ice cream. I still make
it now that I'm not a poor college kid.

I originally got the recipe from my Betty Crocker cookbook (still my most used
cookbook regardless of how many others I have).

This is now in the oven. If I time it right I can surprise david with a bowl
of gooey cake and a cup of tea before he gets done playing his zombie game.

I've got a similar recipe--but mine calls for strong black coffee to be
pour over the top--making a wonderful mocha-pudding cake. Got my
recipe from the Hershey's cookbook. Good stuff!!!!!

Tonight for desert it is chocolate cake with choc chips, topped with
chocolate ganache icing--and low fat cool-whip....lol....

AAAARRRRGHHHH why didn't I think of that??? I've got a big latte mug sitting
right here with about 3 shots of espresso in it (no milk) that I didn't drink.
I could have used that.

Thanks for the inspiration, Heather. Is this kind of like a pudding cake?
I have made things like that before, but your post reminded me that my son
would probably love a dessert like this on his birthday. I will hang on to
the recipe for just that occasion!
