Default Identity Theft

There was a long thread a few days ago about identity theft.

Here's a lot of valuable information:

Here's another:

http://www.idtheftcenter.org/index.shtml

As I understand it, this organization will help you turn your id theft
problem around. This an organization started by a guy who spent
several years turning his own id theft around and learned so much
about how truely difficult it is, he started this org/site.

Seems the main problem is most financial institutions could care less
about your dilemma and will actively discourage victims through
outright lies or malignant indifference. They bullshit victims
because they don't want to be bothered or held liable for their own
incompentence. Also, since the perp isn't likely to be paying the
debt anytime soon, they'd rather hang your ass out to dry, knowing
you're probably an upstanding citizen that will do (pay!) anything to
clear yourself. This organization is well versed on obscure consumer
protection laws most victims are unaware of that protect the victim
and force financial institutions to cough up the kind of details and
information needed to get your ass off the hook and restore your fomer
good credit.

The organization will not accept payment for services. But, it's been
pretty successful at helping others and survives on donations after
the fact from victims grateful for pulling their butts out of the
fire. I have no experience with it, thankfully, but heard about it
during a consumer affairs segment on tv that gave high praise for it's
successes at helping victims.

Hope this helps.
