The term "Shrimp Scampi" actually means "shrimp shrimp".(or "shrimp lobster").
But it has become a custom in this country. It must sound odd to Italians. I have another one of this genre. It always amuses me when I read "flourless chocolate torte" on a menu. A torte is a flourless cake by definition--although it sometimes has a miniscule amount of flour in it. Why don't they just write "torte"? Fran |
