That is very sad news. I'm so sorry for his loss to friends and family.

I knew I hadn't seen any of his post since probably Sept/Oct. Had he been
ill long?

I will miss his sense of humor most of all.

He had open heart surgery a couple of weeks ago and never really
recovered.

I imagine him in heaven, boiling ribs and pinching the bottoms of
angels.

That must have been a terrible shock to his family. How really awful.

Heh, we had a harange once about boiling ribs. I'll never forget that.

Peace to Moosemeat.

I remember one the first messages he posted to the newsgroup. He said
one of the legs on a baked chicken was more tender, either the left one
or the right one. I forget which one. That was in 1996 or 1997.

He was a hoot. I will miss him.

Was it his right ventricle or his left ventricle?

Not as uncommon as one would be led to believe.

Unless you are really prepared for it, seeing someone after open heart
surgery ain't like it is in the movies. Your first view of the person is
devastating.

Yes, that is what happened with my mother. She had open heart surgery
and she never really recovered either. A week later, she died.

This grieves me. Moosemeat was an RFC institution.

Anesthesia (sp) in older people is a BAD THING. Rapid decline tends
to follow.

Yes, yes, yes.

I have been reading occasionally in the last couple months, but not
posting much. This was very sad news.

I will miss Moosie. This really is the end of an RFC era. I hope that
he and Hattie have been having a good ol' gab in the Big Kitchen
in the Sky.

Has anyone heard from St. Mavis, to see how she is doing?

Since my computer died, I haven't been watching RFC much and the sad
news. Got an email from his son today informing me about his death,
which sent me looking for this thread.

Moosemeat was a good hearted, funny and mischevious person who loved to
stir the pot in rfc. He and his antics will be missed, that's for
sure!

I remember a few -- 3 or 4 -- years ago He was concerned about wearing a
bow tie or some tie to a function -- wedding?-- Does anyone remember?

As will we all. Sometimes maddening, sometimes baiting, often
generous, always entertaining and thought-provoking. Helluva man.

Rare sort, Moosey. Make them smile there, too...

Sue, I am so sorry. I know what good friends you were with him and
how much you will miss him. Please, tell his wife how sorry I am,
even though I barely knew him.

Oh man! I knew he'd been missing for a long while but had no idea it was
this bad. Please give my condolences to his family and friends.

He will be missed. Moosie hasn't been around much lately and I'd
wondered about him.
I remember for a long time (well, it seemed long) he was having
trouble with his computer. I was hoping that the computer, or
possibly just loss of interest was the reason for his absence. Please
print out this entire thread and pass it on to the family just to let
them know of his extended family.

I might just have to boil up a rib or two in his honor (not a whole
rack, just a couple of ribs).

Has it really been 6 years? I remember when you started the count!
Glad to see you're sticking to it, buddy. Soon, you will have saved
enough on those cigarettes to buy your wife a verrrry nice trinket.
