Default Presto Pizza Pizzazz oven - need tips

I have a Presto Pizza Pizzazz. It's a gizmo that cooks pizza, out in
the open in front of your eyes. Fun, and the kids love it too. And the
pizza itself is delicious, believe it or not.

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg...d%3D1105893544
/ has the product on amazon for those not familiar with it.

There is one problem I'm having with it: I cannot get the crusts to be
truly crispy.

The product has an upper and lower heating element to cook the toppings
and the crust, and the instructions suggest running the thing for a few
extra minutes after the pizza is cooked with just the lower element
going, if one wants a crispy crust. I've tried that, but it hasn't
worked.

I don't think there's much else I can do. There's not a thermostat or
heat control, just a timer and a control to turn the two elements on or
off. But I'd like to hear from others who've used the product if they
did anything special - maybe make the dough differently? - to get that
elusive crispy crust.
