the stuff that gets discarded tends to be roots and
dry portions that won't be useful for anything else,
but even whatever is discarded gets fed to the worms
so none of it is wasted.

peelings, seeds, stems, husks, tunics, roots, dirt,
spoiled portions... worms love it all. they seem to
especially like onion/garlic parts.
