Not necessarily. Google tends to show you what they think you want to see.

A duckduckgo search for
John Kuthe RN "St Louis"
turns up this as the first hit

<https://www.mylife.com/john-kuthe/e459183966786>

Then a bunch of religious organizations matching various
search terms.

That's getting advanced. John's "drive" is probably a partition on
the same HDD.

As this is XP, maybe it's been caused by someone or something
jinxing the MPT entry in the MBR.

Yep, my D: drive is a Logical drive not a Physical drive. Window just temporarily lost its pointer to it, but everything is OK with it now.

Please define your acronyms at least once before using them.

And yes, a bad USB Hub was causing my D: drive to not be visible, but it's back now! Yay! :-)

Yes they do. Do you know what a Logical vs. a Physical drive are?

I do, I was a Computer Engineer and worked for IBM for 7 years. I know a LOT more about computers than you do, Greg Sorrow!

So you really are trusting everything to a single hard drive without a backup.

A VP at Apple told a friend she should buy a Mac so she shouldn't need
to make backups because Apple hard drives never fail.

Nice of him to be loyal to his brand, but I had to check it out. A quick
online search located many sites with instructions on how to recover
failed Mac hard drives. I don't know why there would be so many if they
never failed.

Perhaps the *real* question should be: what *exactly* does John have that is so "important" to back up...???

You had to look? I laughed my head off when she told me, and I told her
such were the reasons I never buy Apple products.

I confess that I don't have much experience with Apple products. They
may be state of the art but they are very expensive. I dislike the
proprietary nature of the extras.

My friend likes Apple. He was especially enamored with his IPad, but day
his dog knocked it out of his hand and the screen broke. It was going
to be an outrageous price to repair. He could have bought a new Samsung
for less than the cost of a screen replacement.

Your attempt to cut down John just backfired on you, Bryan.
Very evil comments and just makes you look so bad. You have worse
problems than John does.

In the early PC days, some Apple in his eyes guy was showing me what the
Mac could do. Look, I can do this with the Mac! My reply: all
computers do that. This went on for about half a dozen "things the Mac
can do! All computers do that" and I silently left so when he went to
show me the next thing "the Mac can do!" I wasn't there.

Oh, I just remembered - he caught hell when the Mac's disk drive failed,
and he didn't have any paper copies in the files, which was a
requirement anyway since others needed access to the files.

What a twit!

Why? You don't.

In addition, those are common abbreviations any computer engineer
would understand.

Yes, my thoughts exactly.

Apple is grossly overpriced, especially these days where they're
cutting corners on quality. I've never understood why a certain
demographic gets sucked into their marketing. They had certain strong
points in the past, particularly for video editing but those days are
long gone.

You don't need to be. The claim that a certain brand hard drive (or
ANY storage medium) will never fail is ludicrous on the face of it.

Gary, I don't care what you think about my *evilness*. Kuthe went after
my reputation, and I'm enjoying the retaliation. Admit it, you think I'm
evil for retaliating against a mental invalid, and you'd have a good point
if John were a stranger--like yourself--whom I'd had no interactions with
in the offline world. Sure, when you insult me, I try to come back with
worse, but with Kuthe I go for the jugular. The mother****er should
know not to ever mention me. No ****ing Mr. Gormley this, or Novelty
Studios that. Nothing.

You do more damage to your reputation than John ever did. You've shown
yourself to be an obsessed, sadistic creep who, luckily, doesn't have
the balls to act on his fantasies other than verbally. John only said
you were a narcissist.

You bet your ass I'm cruel. Any time you mention me, you stoke that cruelty.
Look at your stupid use of capitalized letters. It makes you look like a mental
defective. Notice how no one else does that? People here think I'm an asshole
for being cruel to a mental invalid. You are that mental invalid. Even those who
wish you well because they feel sorry for you think you're a mental invalid. No
mentally capable person would write, "omits his Truce," like you did. Your brain
has deteriorated.

LOL & WTF. You only said yesterday the drive was working....... AND
berated me because I assumed you WOULD take it to a computer shop!
LMAO.........

Uh-Huh. May I ask WHY you have previously cited (more than once) that
a faulty USB hub was the cause of the problem if the hard drive in
question is an INTERNAL drive?

Relax, man. Your master will be here soon to lick your asshole.
