Of course they'll never approve of term limits. Why would they vote to end their cushy jobs? Too many career politicians. They also get to vote for their own raises and benefits. Parties don't matter in this respect...both sides benefit. Anyone question this, do a search of job salary, benefits and retirement of members of the House or Senate. This past year+ so many Americans out of jobs or reduced jobs all struggling to pay their bills and even buy food. Most in Congress came from "money" or have good retirement from a retired job. They haven't lost of penny of their salaries or benefits during this pandemic. Yet they keep dicking around with the "stimulus packages" which will give hurting people at least a little money to keep going. Not really all that much. If you want to blame anyone for things, blame Congress and not any current President. |

There's no provision for it in federal law, but Michigan enacted term limits through a ballot initiative. We now have crappy, inexperienced lawmakers who learn everything they know from lobbyists. > They also get to vote for their own raises and benefits. Divide that by the number of taxpayers. The result is a tiny figure. > This past year+ so many Americans out of jobs or reduced jobs all > struggling to pay their bills and even buy food. What's your alternative proposal? Send every adult $31,133 (the U.S. median income)? How large a deficit do you want your descendants to pay for? Cindy Hamilton |
