She would never have lowered her dignity to use a litter box. She attended to her own toilet needs, privately and discreetly, in the outside world. She had little time for hanging out looking cute, either; she was an ambitious executive career cat on a mission to exterminate rodents. When she had killed more than she could eat, she brought the spare dead rodents home and left them in her food dish for later, or sometimes, in our shoes. She brought us an average of three spare corpses a day.... every day for 20 years. Janet UK |

Cosma AKA Shitter Critter, used to go to its litter box, stand in the litte with its butt hanging outside and crap on the floor, and then go through the motions of burying something in the litter. > She had little time for hanging out looking cute, either; she was an > ambitious executive career cat on a mission to exterminate rodents. We acquired a number of barn cats over the years. They were not allowed in the house. They used to catch a lot of small creatures. Mouse stomachs and entire dead moles were often proudly displayed on the stoop by the front door. Thanks to a neighbour's dog and the local coyote population, cats never lasted long here. I think there is one living in the barn now but it is elusive. |

They also have a bad attitude and will chase you rather than run away if you surprise one. They only live near fresh water though and mostly in my semi-swampy State Park. For that reason, I only hike there on very cold winter days. That eliminates mosquito's too. |
