She would never have lowered her dignity to use a litter box. She attended to her own toilet needs, privately and discreetly, in the outside world. She had little time for hanging out looking cute, either; she was an ambitious executive career cat on a mission to exterminate rodents. When she had killed more than she could eat, she brought the spare dead rodents home and left them in her food dish for later, or sometimes, in our shoes. He's got two 'barn cats' that are more pets than your typical farm cat and they knew to stay away from that critter. They also have a bad attitude and will chase you rather than run away if you surprise one. They only live near fresh water though and mostly in my semi-swampy State Park. For that reason, I only hike there on very cold winter days. That eliminates mosquito's too. |
